I have recently been working on creating a stationary collection as part of a class exercise and this is the concept board.  I’ve enjoyed the challenge to work to a ‘brief’ to create stationary for a sophisticated woman.  I’m loving teal lately and suspect it’s an up and coming trend so, I went with that as a base colour.  The Lilly started as a sketch in my sketchbook.

I’m so excited to see that one of my designs has been featured on Rachael Taylor’s blog as part of the The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design Module 1 showcase.

The design was created from a doodle sketch that I did while having some relaxing free-time after a long day at work.

The sketch was cleaned up and coloured in Photoshop and Illustrator to give me the final design:

I’ve recently entered the Brabantia Design Your Bin Competition.  Here is my entry, entitled ‘Confetti’.

Hello blogworld,

I am excited to start this blog which will be about my journey to follow my dreams and to become a surface pattern designer.  I have just completed Module 1 of the Do What You Love: The Art and Business of Surface Pattern Design course by Beth Nichols and Rachael Taylor and will be doing module 2 and 3 when that starts later in June.  It is a wonderful course, but more on that later.

I love to travel, shop for vintage finds in markets and we are currently doing up our fixer-upper Victorian House, and this is where I will also share some of that.

Welcome to my blog…
